The UMC Staylock produces fixed knot netting in a varied range of sizes and specifications. The netting produced is a light, strong and extremely durable product because the knot holds the stay and line wires in a fixed position while supporting them in all directions. These inherent qualities make netting produced by the Staylock superior to all other types of netting for agriculture, security and predator fencing.

Automated Crimp Drum will allow rapid changeovers where frequent specification changes are common.

Machine Features

  • High quality materials and high precision finish throughout the machine.
  • Solid steel plate all welded chassis and gear boxes ensure levels of vibration are kept to a minimum in operation.
  • Carburised and ground gears and precision running gear in all critical areas to maintain reliability and quiet operation.
  • Outsourced components are supplied through renowned international suppliers and have been tried and tested through years of experience.
  • Comprehensive level of sensing equipment; tie feed, back frame, stay-feed and through process sensors, pick up faults and missing wire. These sensors allow the machine to be confidently run with minimal supervision.
  • Optional dual end stay-wire feed allows the production of two fences. As stay-wire is fed to the Twister-Boxes from both ends of the Twister-Bed the adoption of standard line wire settings is possible at both ends of the machine. Reducing the need to move line-wires is a major factor in reducing specification change time.
  • Auto Wire-Stripping-Table; releases finished rolls to the pick up zone and re-sets for windup, allows for the easy removal of any type and weight of roll.
  • Setup allows minimum line wire spacing of 3” and produces a tight strong fence highly suitable for security, horse and pig fencing applications with the Staylock Knot, through to 48” for economy fences.
  • Replacement components available on request, with an extensive range of parts stocked and ready for direct shipment.
  • A large amount of our components have been held to original mounting dimensions and are a direct fit for some older types of machines still in service. Due to the longevity of these machines this makes our machine a good choice as a partner machine in factories where there are older types of equipment through interchangability of parts.
  • Automated Crimp Drum will allow rapid changeovers where frequent specification changes are common.

  • Production options for for 3” (76mm), to 48” (1215mm) stay wire spacing with appropriate tooling.

Optional Extras

Accumulator Towers

Accumulator Towers, allow for production to continue through tying off finished rolls, giving enough time for the operator to cut off, strip and re-set the new wire into the windup.

Stayfeed ER

Can be purchased as primary (RH) and Secondary (LH) unit and bolts to existing mounts (UMC Machines) see brochure for more detail.

Tooling

Additional 3”(76mm), to 48”(457mm) setups are available. Additional wire types e.g. 2.0mm (14 gauge) in varying configurations.

Continuing Projects

Constant improvements are made to the process technology and these are offered to UMC customers after testing.

Additional Tooling To Your Requirements

UMC is able to develop new types of tooling for the SLM on request and pending approval.
